Why Sargasso?

This place has always been fascinating to me. Seaweed, debris, and algae from all over the Atlantic get funneled in and concentrate. There have been several stories of ships from the Age of Exploration, the slave trade, and yachts from the present day stuck in the Sargasso Sea, never to come out.

I'm surprised the Sci-Fi Channel hasn't set one of their shows here yet, though I think the old Johnny Quest cartoon did one back in the 1970's. I remember something about villanous scuba divers dressed up to look like lizardmen - to scare away interlopers and those meddling kids. Don't worry, as always, Johnny, Hadji, and Bandit saved the day.

Why Sargasso?
It's the perfect thought black hole.
